| Utilizing aramid composite technology, VBL-454 is a world-class valve body separator plate assembly, consisting of fiber composite bonded-for-life to a 0.5mm steel core. The robust sealing and mechanical properties of VBL-454 provide solutions for common challenges in valve body sealing while addressing key market desires including optimal performance, weight and packaging reduction, precision assembly and reduced piece price and manufacturing costs. VBL-454 is not a universal fit to all existing valve body applications and must be designed into the valve body assembly. A bill of design has been established and is available upon request. |  |
Key Features and Attributes
- The aramid based composite is resistant to surface erosion and has exceptional fluid sealing properties
- On average, a 30% weight reduction is achieved because the high-grade composite accommodates a thin metal core
- VBL-454 is directionally correct for smaller packaging as it gives designers the freedom to reduce channel width and wall thickness, decreasing the size of the entire valve body assembly
- Current applications have shown reduced pump losses and, with the proper design, the use of an on-demand pump is possible
- Manufacturing advances and the properties of VBL-454 result in reduced piece price and a dramatic decrease in tooling costs, by up to 50% in some cases
